It's Great Business
Interview with Jim Kerr
During this week’s It’s Great Business, Jim Kerr a global communications and public relations executive for Fortune 500 companies Unisys and FIS, shares his amazing and very relatable career story. The Temple University English Literature graduate’s personal story highlights how finding “the journey within” is possible. In fact, he details how it led him to back to what he was meant to do, being a full-time writer and blogger.
Throughout our chat, Jim shares his career perspectives from corporate executive to writer--which began the day he lost his job. As he describes, “I just starting walking home…21 plus miles later, the journey to self-reflection enabled him to “see” what was really important.” Realizing that he was not alone with unfulfilled feelings, Jim decided to share, writing The Long Walk Home: How I lost My Job as a Corporate Remora Fish and Rediscovered My Life’s Purpose. As you listen to this inspiring podcast discussion, I hope that you begin to really think about what makes you fulfilled, what brings you joy, “what lights you up.” Jim also writes regularly for HumbleDollar and on his blog peaceableman.com.
